Emma Allshouse's Wilms Tumor Research Fund
The Emma Allshouse's Wilms Tumor Research Fund has been established in honor of childhood cancer fighter Emma Allshouse. The goal is to raise research funds through the Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation to help find safer and less-toxic treatments for Wilms Tumor.
Wilms tumor also known as Nephroblastoma, is a rare cancer that mostly children under the age of 5 are diagnosed with. 1 in 10,000 are diagnosed with this horrific cancer. Although it is rare, it is the most common kidney cancer in children, and accounts for about 5% of all childhood cancers. That is about 600 children diagnosed with Wilms within the United States each year.
