NO SHAVE NOVEMBER RBC Caseys Raising Funds for Children Fighting Cancer
We, at Red Bank Catholic Caseys, are students of faith. As disciples of Christ, our mission as Catholics is summed up by Matthew 25:35-37, which tells us: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me”.
In alignment with our mission as disciples of Christ, we are coming together to raise funds for the most vulnerable of us all, children fighting cancer. Myself (Frankie Sinatra), Frankie Williams, and Jack Keefe are proud to announce Red Bank Catholic's first “No Shave November” Event. Through this initiative of raising awareness and funds, we will be coming alongside all children fighting cancer and their families in solidarity. All proceeds raised on behalf of Red Bank Catholic will be donated to Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation, a local foundation that funds less-toxic treatments for children with cancer, provides emotional and financial support to families suffering hardship due to their child's cancer diagnosis, provides bereavement retreats to families who have lost a child to cancer, and that cares for the emotional wellness of childhood cancer survivors so they cannot only survive but thrive.
As part of our Senior Project, it's important to us that Red Bank Catholic Caseys are remembered as leaders in our community not only on the field, but off the field as well. We want RBC to be known for its inherent heart to help others.
You can join this initiative by setting up a page as a participant or a fundraiser or by making a simple donation. The minimum cost of participation is $10, but we welcome any and all donations to further the mission of the cause, as only 8 percent of federal funding goes to childhood cancer research. To date, Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation has funded over 120 research grants and clinical trials, some of which have been life-saving to children in our own community. We appreciate any and all efforts to support this initiative which will have a direct and measurable impact on the lives of children with cancer and their families. Our ultimate goal is to have this become an annual event for future Caseys.
