CLIP THE CLIPPERS FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER RESEARCH, AWARENESS AND SUPPORT

On Monday, March 13, 2023 at 2:45p.m., Xaverian will be hosting its 3rd “Clip the Clippers” event in the gymnasium where students, faculty, and staff will volunteer to shave their heads and cut their hair short to help raise awareness for childhood cancer, raise funds for Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation, and donate hair to Children with Hair Loss who makes wigs for children suffering hair loss.

Licensed barbers and stylists will shave male participants’ heads and will cut 8-10 inches of female participants’ hair to donate. All participants are asked to raise at least $75.

In 2018 and 2019, Clip the Clippers had over 200 participants who raised over $130,000 for the fight against childhood cancer and made over 40 wigs for children suffering hair loss.

Arms Wide Open Childhood Cancer Foundation’s mission is to fund less toxic therapies for children with cancer so they can have a better quality of life as they battle the disease and to give children battling cancer and their families hope during the most difficult days of their lives.

Children with Hair Loss is an organization who provides free human hair replacements to children with medically-related hair loss, a product and process that could cost families as much as $1,500.

Thank you for choosing to participate and help fight against childhood cancer. If you have any questions about the event, please contact Mr. Giugliano ’07 ([email protected]).
